The Winter

It has been quite a long time since my last post, but some technical problems occured beside the usual time issues. So I am just start showing pictures taken during the coldest days of my life when you might already feel the warm sun.
After Christmas when I got back to Drammen, I had to face a terribly freezing cold. It was not easy to take any pictures during this time. This temperature can kill enthusiasm very fast even in an inspiring environment.
The pictures are taken in Drammen, January 2010.

The ski slope over the town in heavy snowing (taken from a window of the local student dormitory).

And even if the sun came out of the clouds, you could not feel any warmth of it at all. Drammenselva, the river was iced over, and covered in snow too. I have found a good spot in my school (Papirbredden) where I could take some shots of the frozen river together with the Y-bridge, and I did not have to care about the cold outside.

And some other pictures I took these days before my hands got totally frozen ;)

And finally some night pictures again from the warm room. Well it was not that warm, because the heating has broken down, of course. But that's another story.

A bit of snow, and a bit of cold

I have not posted anything for quite a long time, because I had a trip to Northern-Norway - yes, for taking more pictures -, so now this post is going to be a bit longer than usually. /Nordic pictures are coming soon/

So yeah, the permanent snow arrived to the Southern regions as well, in November. It was not a big snow, and the temperature was not that terribly low either, but soon Norway showed its real face. These pictures were taken in Drammen and Kongsberg til
the end of December, 2009.

There is about 40 km between Drammen and Kongsberg, and this distance meant about 20 cm of snow difference in 5th November. Actually Drammen's streets just became wet, while I took these pictures about the "first permanent snow" in Norway since the summertime.

If someone would raise the question what the picture above-left is really about, it is a glass roof with some snow on it, taken from below ;)

But lets go back to Drammen - simply just pictures without any text:

And finally, I am finishing the year 2009 with a Christmas decoration at Gardermoen Lufthavn (Oslo's main airport)

The first signs of the Norwegian Winter

I know I am a bit behind myself. We are already in the middle of Winter (in Norway) while I'm still just posting the beginning of it, but I will try to catch up soon.
So those days the nature was still splendorously colorful, the red color is visible almost everywhere (unlikely to most places in Europe - you can read more about the possible reasons here: link), when suddenly the cold has arrived, and the colors have soon changed to white.

Pictures were taken on 30th October
